In the Midst of the Recession, Lighthouse Adds Tennessee Access to Recovery Services to Its Clarksville Facility

Lighthouse has been a provider of Recovery Support Services approved by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services for some time now, though budget restrictions prevented us from offering Access to Recovery services in Clarksville. Thanks to an increase in funding and some careful internal restructuring, Lighthouse is now proud to offer Tennessee Access to Recovery to residents of its Clarksville program. This will expand our capabilities, and allow us to offer more to the people that come to us seeking help. Residents will receive such additional services as Recovery Support; Relapse Prevention; Employment Preparation; Spiritual Support; Pastoral Support; and Basic Education on a group and individual basis. That's the good news!

The not so good news?  The increase in funding is temporary, and will still leave us with a huge budget shortfall. That means that the greatest need the ministry faces at the present time continues to be financial. Many of you have responded and are supporting us, and we're grateful. The rising cost of fuel, utilities, and groceries continues to have a major impact on our local budget.

As we've said before, we need donations, but we also desperately need local employment for partcipants in our Reliable back-to-work program. Local manufacturers or employers willing to enter into agreements with the Lighthouse back-to-work program, known as "Reliable" should contact Pastor Chris Coates, Lighthouse Vice President,  at 901-568-9389.

We appreciate the support of the people of Clarksville!

Lighthouse Partners with Koch Foods in Mississippi!

March 2009--After months of negotiations, Lighthouse has proudly added Koch Foods, Inc. to its list of Partners. At present, Koch Foods employs a large number of people from the Reliable Back-to-Work Program, all of which will be eligible to transition to full time positions (with benefits) after a waiting period. Koch is a Chicago-based poultry producer that supplies chicken to major customers all over the world. "Our people have been given a second chance, and have had their hope restored," said Pastor Chris Coates, who negotiated the arrangement with Rick Sanchez, the HR Complex manager for Koch Foods. We at the Lighthouse are grateful to all of our work program partners, and want to thank the Koch Foods team for their support!
